Police firearms, bulletproof vests missing in Zambales


High-powered firearms and police equipment like bulletproof vests are missing from the provincial police office in Zambales. New provincial police chief Senior Superintendent Wendy Rosario stated this on Thursday as he formed a task force to look for the missing equipment. "Ang report sa akin may mga nawawalang issued firearms at hindi ma-account at saka may mga evidences allegedly ammonium nitrate at saka detonating cord ... Ito ang subject ng investigation, nag-organize ako ng task force to investigate," Rosario said in an interview on dzBB radio. He said the missing items include at least "six to seven" M-16 rifles and grenades, as well as Kevlar vests reportedly donated to the police station. Also missing were helmets and computer sets donated by the governor's office, Rosario added. "Yung custodian, sila ngayon ang subject for investigation," he said.
